Ways to boost your fuel economy

Whether you have a gas guzzler or a fuel sipper, it never hurts to do everything you can to boost your fuel efficiency when driving in Tucson. Doing so is good both for the environment and for your bottom line. Here are some tips on how to get the most miles out of your fill up.

Keep your tires inflated
Tires that are underinflated can be a drag on your fuel economy. So make sure your tires are inflated to the manufacturer-recommended pressure.

Reduce drag
If you have luggage racks or bike racks that you use infrequently, take them off your vehicle. These can cause drag that drags down your fuel economy.

Avoid prolonged idling
Having your car running without moving will hurt your fuel economy. Shut your vehicle off when you are waiting for a pickup or sitting at a long light.
